Kru Tuke or Miss Tuke is what the students call me. 'Kru' literally means teacher. In Thailand, all students address their teachers by saying 'Kru.....(name)....'
I have been working at this school since January 2005 and developed to be a passionate teacher. I love what I have been doing here. I have a strong passion to make my students speak good English. Working in the English Program has been challenging and fun at the same time. I have been getting many opportunities to do various tasks, i.e. teaching Social Studies to Grade 7 to Grade 11, creating several projects for students to practice speaking English professionally, and chaperoning students in exchange programs both to Australia and the US.
Out of all these tasks, I think the most challenging and demanding job that I have done here is to teach a Southeast Asian Studies course to American students of Lodi High School, Wisconsin via Skype. This course has been offered to grade 9-11 students of Lodi High School since 2011. Due to 11 hour difference between Thailand and Wisconsin, I am required to teach between 9 pm to10.24 pm every other night from September to January. Work life at Sa-nguan Ying School has been challenging but fun. I love seeing students growing up possessing an English speaking skill as I know that this, without a doubt, will be beneficial for them in the future.
